2. What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to:

• the ESL Nearby website;
• your ESL Nearby account;

Website Analytics

The website uses Google Analytics to understand how pages are used — for example, which courses people open. It also uses a Google Ads tag (AW-18139951329) to see which visits came from our ads. We do not show ads on ESL Nearby. Google may set cookies and receive your IP address and browser information. That processing is described in Google’s privacy policy.

Writing Activities

When you submit writing for correction, evaluation, or feedback, we process the text you provide.

This may include paragraphs, essays, stories, answers, plans, messages, or other writing submitted as part of an ESL Nearby activity.

Some writing-feedback features use artificial intelligence services, including the OpenAI API.

Voice, Speech, and Conversations

When you use pronunciation, speaking, mock-interview, conversational tutor, or similar features, we may process:

• transcriptions of your speech;

• responses generated during the conversation; and
• information necessary to provide pronunciation or speaking feedback.

Depending on the feature, audio, transcription, text, or conversation content may be sent to a third-party artificial intelligence provider for processing.

If you purchase a course through the ESL Nearby website, payment information may be processed by a third-party payment provider such as Stripe.

We do not store your complete payment-card number when your payment is processed by our payment provider.

OpenAI processes this information as a third-party service provider used to deliver the requested functionality.

We encourage you not to submit passwords, payment-card information, government identification numbers, confidential business information, another person’s private information, or other sensitive information that is unnecessary for your learning activity.

6. Other Service Providers

ESL Nearby uses third-party companies to help operate the service.

These providers may perform functions such as:

• artificial intelligence processing;
