The reading
Last month, I nearly missed my flight to New York. I was visiting my friend, Sarah, and had planned everything perfectly. But, as usual, things didn’t go as expected. First, there was a huge traffic jam on the way to the airport. I should have left home earlier, but I thought I had plenty of time.
When I finally arrived, the line at security was so long. I was getting really nervous. I kept checking my watch, and the minutes seemed to fly by. I thought I might miss my flight for sure. Luckily, I managed to get through security with just twenty minutes to spare.
I ran to my gate as fast as I could. When I got there, they were just about to close the door. I made it, but just barely! Now, I always leave home an hour earlier than I think I need to. It’s better to be safe than sorry, right?
