The reading
Moving to the city was a big change for me. On my first day, I was overwhelmed by the noise and the crowds. I remember standing on the corner of 5th Avenue, trying to figure out which way to go. I had a map, but it didn’t help much. I felt lost and a bit scared.
The subway was another challenge. On the second day, I got on the wrong train and ended up in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan. I was late for my meeting with Sarah, but she understood. She even laughed and said, 'Everyone gets lost at first!' That made me feel a bit better.
By the end of the week, I started to feel more comfortable. I found a great coffee shop near my apartment where I could relax. The barista, Tom, remembered my name and my order. It felt like a small victory. I know I’m going to love living here once I get used to everything.
