Good evening, I'm Grace with your local news update. So, earlier today, the city council proudly announced that they've managed to cut the budget deficit by half.
Yep, they say it's a big win. But, here's the kicker—an independent audit just released claims the deficit is actually only down by twenty percent, not fifty.
So, yeah, that's quite a difference. The council insists their numbers are correct, but, you know, skepticism's in the air.
Anyway, this whole budget situation affects pretty much everyone in the city, especially local businesses that were promised tax breaks. Now, the next city council meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday, and, well, all eyes will be on them to see how they explain this discrepancy.
