Introducing yourself

Hi, I’m Theo. I manage the operations team.
Nice to meet you. I’ve just joined the marketing department.
I mainly work with international clients.

Too casual, too formal

Grammatically correct is not enough. Yo, send me that is clear and still wrong for most rooms. I kindly request the pleasure of your acquaintance is also wrong — people do not talk like that.

Weak: Hey, I’m the new guy.
Strong: Hi, I’m Alex. I’ve just joined the marketing team.

Meeting someone else

Name, role, one fact. Then let them talk. “I’ve been with the company for about three years” is enough history.
