Request account deletion

You can ask us to delete your ESL Nearby account at any time. This page is the request path Google Play asks us to publish.

How to request deletion

Email us from the address you use to sign in:

E-Mail: hi@eslnearby.com

Please include:

• the words “delete my account” in the subject or the first line;
• the email address on your ESL Nearby account; and
• whether you signed in with Google, Apple, or email.

We will reply from that inbox and delete the account after we confirm it is yours. We aim to finish within 14 days.

What we delete

When we delete your account we remove, or anonymize where the law requires us to keep a record:

• your name, email, and sign-in identifiers;
• learning progress, streaks, and course history;
• writing you submitted for feedback; and
• speaking and pronunciation recordings tied to your account.

We may keep a limited record of the request itself, and of a payment, if we are required to keep it for tax or fraud reasons. That record is not used to teach you or to contact you again.

Subscriptions

Deleting the account does not by itself cancel a subscription you bought in the Apple App Store or Google Play. Cancel that subscription in the store first if you do not want another charge.
