The reading

When I first moved to New York, learning English felt impossible. I tried many things, like watching movies and listening to music, but nothing worked. I was frustrated and felt like giving up. One day, my friend Alex told me about a language exchange group that met every Saturday at a local café. I decided to give it a try.

At the café, I met people from all over the world. We practiced English together, and I finally started to feel more confident. The conversations were fun, and I learned new words every week. I realized that speaking with others helped me more than studying alone at home. It was like a light bulb went off in my head.

Now, I always tell new learners to find a group or a friend to practice with. It's important to speak and make mistakes. That's how you learn. I still go to the café on Saturdays, and now I help others who are just starting. It's amazing to see how much progress everyone makes. If you're struggling with English, don't give up. Find a way to make it fun, and you'll see the change too.
